John is the Chief Executive of the social enterprise, Renaisi, where he has worked since 2007. He is a highly experienced researcher, strategist and facilitator. He has developed, delivered and evaluated a great many projects, programmes and services, seeing him engage in some of the big challenges facing the UK social sector. His clients have included Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Gingerbread, Deloitte, the Prince’s Trust, the #iWill Fund, City Year UK, Carers Trust, Power to Change, several local and public authorities and lots of small charities. He has created measurement frameworks for services, evaluated programmes, designed services and advised management teams – all in service of improving decision making in the social sector to increase impact and improve outcomes.
John holds a BA from Warwick University, an MA from King’s College, London (both in history) and an MSc from the London School of Economics in Behavioural Science. His interests include goal setting, decision making, and the interplay between strategy and evidence in social organisations and movements. John is a trustee of the Young Women’s Trust, and was previously a voluntary director of London Capital Credit Union for six years, and a school governor in north London.
