Tara Leathers has worked at The Prince's Trust since 2005, first as a volunteer and then in the Corporate Partnerships team.
She then spent two years in Mumbai working as India Development Director for Human Rights Watch, before returning to the Prince's Trust as Director of Fundraising in 2013.

In 2018, Tara was appointed as the Deputy CEO (Income and Innovation), as part of the newly formed Executive Committee.

Prior to her work for non-profit organisations Tara worked in publishing for ten years, initially at Euromoney Institutional Investor plc running international investment conferences and later at Dennis Publishing, where she was publisher of a group of consumer technology magazines.

Tara was educated in Economics at the University of Manchester and in 2013 at the University of Singapore's Public Policy School where she took executive training in non-profit leadership.
