Job Role

UK Director of Fundraising and Marketing

World Animal Protection

Virginie fell by chance into fundraising over 12 years ago. While she started out as an Individual Giving fundraiser, Virginie loves looking at how to build other income streams and exploring the value of supporters beyond their donation. She has worked at both large and small organisations, including RSPCA and ActionAid. In her current role at World Animal Protection, she spends much of her time helping to build up the UK fundraising programme as well as contributing to some key initiatives for the World Animal Protection global fundraising community, such as the creation of the Global Fundraising Proposition to align fundraising and campaigning. More recently, she’s been on a quest to try and understand and get under the skin of leadership. She is passionate about how charities can become a challenger brand using different approaches to innovate and create their own niche to engage further with supporters. Outside of fundraising, she’s also collaborated with the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) on mobile marketing, promoting how data can be used creatively as well as mentoring up-and-coming marketers.
